How is VMware vSAN different from other hyperconverged storage solutions

The converged infrastructure takes some time living among us and is based on unified computing, storage and networking in a single device in order to streamline management by centralizing administration.
A hyper convergent system, therefore, offers us to go one step further. The system covers all these resources by wrapping them with a software mantle or what is the same SDDC (Software-Defined Datacenter) that gives us enough flexibility to manage and deliver these unified resources as services.
VMware uses the hypervisor to offer computing, storage, and management resources in a highly integrated software stack.
As is widely known, VMware uses its vSAN technology as a software-defined storage solution (SDS).
In this article and the benefits were shown in terms of architecture and scalability of VSANs, obviously, VMware has not stood idly by and has continued to focus on its technology incorporating numerous improvements. Network Monitor Technician
As a result of this effort, VMware debuts in the 2018 leaders section of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI).
VMware being an exclusive software manufacturer, continues its market breakthrough, positioning itself as the leading HCI solution at the enterprise level.
That said, how is vSAN different from other hyper converged storage solutions?
VMware vSAN is the only hyper-convergence solution integrated into the hypervisor, it is included in the vSphere kernel base so it does not involve additional installation and is integrated with the entire VMware product stack. This not only makes the solution more efficient in terms of resource consumption but also eliminates possible uncertainties regarding the disparity of versions between products and ensures compatibility with the solutions deployed in the data center.

vSAN helps us improve profitability and efficiency, minimizing learning times when it comes to hyper-convergence, since the management and monitoring is done from the vCenter itself, a tool more than used in the virtualization environment. The update is done in the same way as with vSphere (Update Manager), vSAN is updated at the same time as vSphere, so we make sure we always have the right version.
It is an agnostic platform in terms of hardware since VMware works together with more than 15 different hardware manufacturers in the development of certified drivers and firmware. Together with this wide range of manufacturers, we find the wide range of disks that can make up our platform, with up to 2400 different types, the possibility of using NVMe / Optane and networking discs of 1/10/25/40/100 GbE.
vSAN fully exploits one of the most important advantages of hyper-convergence, in addition to the allocation of resources according to needs, it offers us the possibility of scaling in CPU, RAM, cache, and disk, independently to meet the objective of reducing the initial investment and increase investment according to business needs.
